The winter chill, low humidity and sometimes bitter winds can wreak havoc on the facial skin not to mention our hands. The two most exposed areas during the winter months. It is so important at all times to protect our skin with proper products suited to your skin type and condition and SPF, with winter time calling for even more protection. Oils are one of your skins best friends in the winter time as they can absorb into the skin and hold moisture better than a water-based lotion.
For the face you can add a vitamin C oil, a hyaluronic acid serum, or even my Remedy Rehab Oil by Hale & Hush. Always follow with your moisturizer day and night and be sure to add SPF in the daytime.
For the hands, I always suggest adding a shea butter based lotion and use this as often as possible, especially every time you wash your hands. It’s also important for your hands to make sure you remove all soap, dry the hands gently and immediately apply your shea butter lotion.
At night you can apply an oil such as jojoba or avocado oil blended with vitamin e oil, massage in completely and follow with your shea butter lotion.
During the next few months, all of my Hale & Hush facials will include a hand treatment to assist in repairing the barrier. To learn more about my skin care offerings, click here.
